Can sleeping in your make up age your complexion?

I often realised that, after making the mistake of not taking my makeup off to sleep (whenever I’m sleeping at a friends house), my face looked ten times worse in the morning…

Studies do show that leaving makeup on your face – such as foundation, concealer, eyeliner, mascara, blush – can age your face. You may think that the ageing process that it does make is not an enormous amount but it can add up…fast.

Make up sets into fine lines & wrinkles as well as deep set scars and pores creating an appearance of deeper wrinkles, scars and pores.

So, every night before you go to bed, make sure you are removing every ounce of make up on your face and leave no excess! Otherwise you might get quite a scare the next morning…

Eos Lip Balm!

So much fuss was made over the new arrival of the Eos Lip Balms that I just had to buy one for myself to see what they were really like! Being in the UK I had to go onto Amazon to purchase my lip balm unfortunately but it arrived in good time considering it was coming all the way from the USA.

This is my own photo (taken through Instagram) of my Strawberry Sorbet flavoured eos lip balm.

It definitely delivers in its flavour, lovely taste yet it isn’t overpowering.

The cool shape and innovative design definitely makes it stand out from all other lip products I know of!

It maintains a smooth and non-sticky moisturising coat over my lips for the most part of the day. I often apply it a few times a day but it depends on how dry your lips get throughout the day.

It is overall my favourite lip purchase of this year and will most likely out last any of my other lip products that I have bought! 🙂

Check out my Instagram for more photos of my Eos lip balm + more! @tess_oseman

I’m yet to try out the other flavours which I’m looking forward too.

Why are Barry M nail varnishes so popular?

Barry M: not only do they offer the widest collection of nail effects but they also offer one of the widest collections of colour choice which apply easily and dries fairly quickly too.

Effects: they have a wide variety of nail effects which can spice up any look and also add a touch of nail artwork to an ordinary nail varnish. They have the popular crackle effect as well as confetti effects, glitter effects, chameleon and many many more!

Check them out here>> Barry M

Whenever I have gone in Boots, Superdrug or any other cosmetic shop, I have noticed that Barry M always have an offer on their nail varnishes making them very affordable. That teamed with their extensive collection (and now with added Gelly Nail Varnishes ) makes them one of the most popular brands for nail varnishes!

Which is your favourite? 🙂

Every day foods which can improve your skin…

Lemon & Sugar! cut a lemon in half and dip it in brown or white sugar for an exfoliating facial scrub to brighten your skin and clear your skin of blocked pores and dead skin cells!

Organic Honey! organic honey is a natural food product that can help calm down skin problems such as redness and acne. It’s one of natures most helpful beauty products and can be applied to a clean face. Wait about 10 minutes for it to set then wash it off with warm water. Perfect for a big event!

Egg yolk & Egg whites! An egg yolk is a natural moisturiser and can renew tired looking skin and hydrate it with just one application all over the face. Wait till it sets then wash off to reveal tight smooth skin. The egg whites create a film like layer over the skin which can lift out impurities in the skin such as blocked pores and excess make up. Wash away and see the results!

Cucumber Slices! place these over your eyes to calm tired looking eyes and relive your eyes of dark circles and discolouration. A great way to relax the muscles especially after a long time spent looking at a bright screen!

Hope these tips were helpful, share your own as well!

Face wash routine for teen skin!

Hey guys, so today I thought I’d take you through a few shower products I use on my face to renew and refresh my skin after a day of wearing make up! All these products are great for sensitive skin 🙂

Olay Essentials Smoothing Face Scrub – this is great for people who have dry skin but it’s also great for oily skin too! It lathers up so easily and you only need a small amount so it doesn’t run out quickly. I love how refreshed my skin feels after I have scrubbed it on as I can feel it literally lifting away any excess make up. This teamed up with my next Olay product, really creates a smooth, tight and refreshed skin texture!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Face Wash – this face scrub contains micro-beads that gently exfoliate sensitive skin to remove dead skin cells and renew fatigued skin. Not only does it exfoliate but it also has built in anti-wrinkle care. People might say 16 is too young to use any anti-wrinkle products but I say the younger you start preventing fine lines and wrinkles the longer lasting the effect!

Tea Tree Witch Hazel Foam Face Wash – this is my final shower face scrub I use and what this basically does is lock in all the moisture so my skin is hydrated and gently heals the skins surface after all the scrubbing. This is Boots own line which I adore, I also use their witch hazel make up removal wipes and their tea tree witch hazel shine control daily moisturiser which is great for oily skin as it stops it looking greasy!

I hope that these recommendations help you in choosing products that could potentially help renew your skin. Again all these products are perfect for dry and sensitive skin but also work for oily skin!

Gradual or Instant Tanners…

Dove: Summer Glow Lotion: this gradual tanner is perfect for a natural sun kissed summer look and doesn’t leave streak marks or nasty splodges! Even if you have fair skin like myself, this stuff works wonders and because it’s a gradual tanner, you can control your level of tan. It’s also great for the colder seasons when you still want your skin to look healthy and tanned! Definate summer purchase I think 🙂

Gel eyeliner or eyeliner pen?

beauty & make up

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner – though it is the more expensive of the two I do find that you can create some of the best winged eyeliners with gel liners purely because they are so much more thick and have a more creamy texture. But against this other product, does it stand its ground?

Maybellines Master Precise Eyeliner Pen – this creates the neatest lines with a precise touch. It is the cheaper option but offers a thin tipped pen to create accurate lines to wing out your eyeliner. Maybelline did well to create two fantastic eyeliners but the Master Precise eyeliner has the edge to it that makes me think that it has to be the better of the two!

Both fair well throughout the day and hold strong over the day but I always recommend priming your eyes so the eyeliners can adhere!
